Garrett Biggs grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area. His most recent prose has appeared in a wide array of literary journals, including CutBank, Nashville Review, The Offing, SmokeLong Quarterly, and New South, among other publications. In addition to his prose, his writing for the stage has been workshopped and performed in Johnson-McFarlane Studios in Denver, Colorado.
He is a recent graduate of the University of Denver, where he received a B.A in English (Creative Writing), and was a recipient of the Olna Fant Cook Award, as well as Honors Distinction in fiction writing. He recently began pursuing his MFA in Fiction at the University of Colorado, Boulder, where he was awarded the John F. Barker Memorial Fellowship, and will serve as a creative writing instructor for the next three years.
Since joining the staff of the Adroit Journal in the summer of 2015, he has served as a Prose Reader and Prose Editor, and now serves as Managing Editor. He also serves on the prose staff of Subito Press. Some of his favorite writers include Roberto Bolaño, Anne Carson, Shane Jones, Samuel Beckett, Valeria Luiselli, Stephen Graham Jones, Selah Saterstrom, and Franz Kafka.
