Aurielle Marie is a Black, Atlanta-born, Queer ass poet and social strategist. She is a 2018 Lambda Literary Writer Retreat Fellow, and was chosen by Safiya Sinclair as the winner of Blue Mesa Review’s 2017 Poetry Prize. Her essays and poems have been featured in or are forthcoming from the Adroit Journal, Selfish Magazine, Scalawag, For Harriett, ESSENCE, Allure, and the Huffington Post. Her collection, Gumbo Ya Ya, won the 2017 Write Bloody Poetry Prize and is forthcoming from Write Bloody Press. Although her work has lived on a global host of stages, her favorite will always be Mama’s kitchen.
