She is a 2018 Lambda Literary Writer Retreat Fellow, and was chosen by Safiya Sinclair as the winner of Blue Mesa Review’s 2017 Poetry Prize. Her collection, Gumbo Ya Ya, won the 2017 Write Bloody Poetry Prize and is forthcoming from Write Bloody Press.
